• CPR / First Aid

  • The Gorodnville Fire Protection District encourages all of our area residents to learn how to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and use an automatic external defibrillator (AED). If ever a co-worker, friend or loved one is choking or has stopped breathing every minute that goes by reduces the chance of survival by seven to ten percent. Lives can been saved when bystanders act and start care for victims of choking or sudden cardiac arrest. Learn what to do so you can act when this happens.

  • CPR Courses

The American Heart Association (AHA) has adopted an on-format to better accommodate the needs and schedules of citizens looking to get their CPR certification. Those needing CPR certification are encouraged to enroll in the American Heart Association’s online eLearning modules for Heartsaver CPR/AED and HeartCode® Basic Life Support (BLS). Once you have completed the online portion of the certification class, you can contact the Gordonville Fire Protection District to schedule your hands-on session with one of our instructors to complete the practical part of the course. Once completed, you will have earned your CPR certification.

For those looking for more of a traditional Instructor lead course you can schedule a course by contacting us and one of instructors will setup a time for you, your family, or organization to attend a class.

To sign up for an online CPR certification course, visit the American Heart Association’s website. You can also search for in-person classes in your area through the website.

Heartsaver® CPR/AED classes are intended for people with little to no prior medical training. Participants will learn how to effectively recognize and treat emergencies in those first critical minutes. The class teaches participants how to administer adult, child and infant CPR, how to treat choking victims, and how to use an AED.

HeartCode® BLS for Healthcare Providers classes are for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. After successful completion, participants will receive a course completion card, valid for two years.
